I've finally gotten down to trying this.
Ingredients:
- Pre-packed Bak Kut Teh herbs.
- 500gm frozen pork ribs. (I chose this coz it was cheaper. You may want to use fresh pork ribs, but frankly, no difference in taste.)
- 4 cloves of garlic (Skin removed)
- 6 dried mushrooms, soaked and halved.
- Dark soy sauce
- Pepper
Preparation:
- Marinate pork ribs with dark soy sauce and pepper for at least 1 hour. (I did this overnight.)
- Soak and half mushrooms.
- Remove skin on garlic
Method:
- Follow instructions on pack. (Boil herbs in approximate 1 litre of water for 20min.)
- Add all the other ingredients in and boil over low heat for at least 1 hour.
- Serve hot.
(You may serve this with rice or noodles, mee sua, etc...)
